International Gleaning Symposium

Join the Association of Gleaners and other leaders in the sustainable food movement as we gather in Burlington, VT to talk shop and learn new skills for building and improving your gleaning program. We are so excited to be able to partner with Salvation Farms to host the fourth International Gleaners Symposium in April of 2021.

 

This year we will be building on past success to host an amazing event. If you would like to present please submit an RFP. We will release the full line up of presenters in January. If you have attended in the past we cant wait to see you again if this is your first-time prepare for a great weekend full of amazing networking opportunities with gleaners from across North America.   

 

Last year's event sold out so get your tickets early.

Lodging

We have secured a group discount at The Courtyard Burlington Harbor for $149 per night and $199 at the Hotel VT.Both these locations are located right downtown and are very close to the meetings. If you are interested in sharing an Airbnb with other attendees email Shawn@gulb.org and he can help arrange something. 

 

  

A Note On Pricing

We have never turned anyone away from the symposium because they could not pay our registration fee. In that same spirit this year we are trying an experiment with pricing for early-bird registration. Pay what you can pricing. We realize that many of our members are small organizations that have tight budgets. That's why this year we are asking you to pay whatever you are able.  

 

To help you make this decision we thought it would be good for you to understand the costs of the event. In 2020 the event will cost us about $35,000 to host or $350 per person. So far we have raised $21,500 in sponsorship from our generous supporter's listed below. This means that on average the event costs $135 a person to put on. So if you can afford to pay a little bit more please do. This enables those who can't afford to pay can still attend. If you can't afford the $135 please just pay whatever you can. If you can't pay anything come anyway. If you are struggling to cover lodging and travel cost reach out we may be able to help. The bottom line is we want you there so let us know how we can help.
